2010 Versace Spring/Summer Fashion Show
For Versace Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show, Donatella Versace took inspiration from Tim Burton’s cinematic vision of the popular children’s classic by Lewis Carroll. “I loved the idea of that fantasy land,” she said in the backstage during the runway show.
Chiffon dresses bring a little of Versace’s signature feminine, sensuous style to the collection. Short, trapeze dresses feature an interesting mix of colour block and printed fabrics. Metallic plates and embellishments add a warrior chic edge to long, ethereal dresses. Womanly and strong, it is Alice all grown up.
Weaving was inspirated from the whimsical tale with her distinctive sexy flair in her designs, the juxtaposes shape skimming, provocative cuts and bold metallic chain embellishments with soft, fresh colors like pastel pink, yellow, green and purple.Stretch fabrics hug every curve and see-through lacquer finished mesh leave nothing to the imagination. This is Alice that being an upfront sex kitten.
Breaking from the dominant color scheme of pastels, pant suits are done in black and white. Jackets are structured and pants are form fitting.
